2010 Munster Senior Open Claycourt Championships
21/Oct/2010(No Expiry Date)Just when it seemed that the fabulously successful Munster Senior Open Claycourt Championships held in August could not be surpassed, the County Tipperary Lawn Tennis Club pulled another triumphant Munster Open Veterans Claycourt Championships out of its hat this weekend, under the Directorship of the indomitable Marcella Kelly, Mary Devlin, and their wonderful team!

But it's only what we have come to expect from this gem of a tennis club, and its President, Paddy Connery, and Honorary Secretary Jacinta Coman, the dream team, who welcomed the President of Tennis Ireland, Letty Lucas, and her husband, George, President of Tennis Ulster, all the way from Hillsborough! They were joined by Alice Fawsitt, the Non-Playing Captain of the Munster Junior Inter-Provincial Veterans Team who competed successfully in Belfast earlier this month.

Alice was joined by several members of that victorious Munster team, together with members of the Super Seniors Team who are competing in Turkey next month, making this a star-studded occasion!

In their truly eloquent acceptance speeches, the prize winners were extravagant in their praise of the members of this paradisaical little tennis club for the welcome and hospitality, fun and entertainment, beautiful fare, and gorgeous prizes.

The wonderful tennis facilities of the club were acknowledged, and the benevolence of John and Una Heffernan, Rosanna, Kilfeacle, Tipperary Sports Complex, and Lattin Tennis Clubs for making their tennis courts available for the tournament was also acknowledged and appreciated.

The Tournament was generously sponsored by Cummins + Voortman Ltd., Sustainable Architecture & Urban Design, together with Members of the County Tennis Club.
