Munster Junior Claycourt Championships a huge Success! | 25/Jun/2011 | (No Expiry Date) | The 'Yummy Mummies' were out in style at the weekend, with lots of 'Yummy Daddies' also to be found enjoying Father's Day at the opening of the Munster Junior Open Clay Court Championships at the County! Boasting a huge entry, under the directorship of Sandra Russell and President Anne Bourke, this is proving an increasingly popular event on the Munster Tennis Circuit. Those seeking to spot future Wimbledon hopefuls would do well to cast an eye on the very talented youngsters who take part in this event each year. In the spirit of fun and games, which is the cornerstone of every sport, the tournament opened on Sunday morning with mini-tennis, played across mini-nets, competitors as young as six years old taking part, showing as much determination and effort as their elder counterparts would invest during the remainder of the tournament! Running for the rest of the week, with finals due to take place on Saturday, June 25th, this tournament is well worth a visit for tennis lovers, and sporting spectators alike.
